History

In around 1938-1939, evening dress and mess uniforms were introduced for Allgemeine-SS personnel.

The Black Evening Dress Vest was worn underneath the Evening Dress Jacket, with a white winged collar, and black bow tie for informal occasions.

The White Evening Dress Vest was worn with the Evening Dress Jacket, with a white winged collar, and a white bow tie for formal occasions.

The front of the Evening Vest was fastened with several silvered buttons that featured SS runes enwreathed in oak leaves.
