History
The Honour Chevron for Old Fighters (Ehrenwinkel für Alte Kämpfer) was a silver chevron that was authorised by Adolf Hitler in February of 1934. It was worn on the upper right sleeve by an exclusive group of ^NSDAP members who were commonly referred to as “Winkelträger” (chevron carriers).
The chevron was issued to SS members who had joined the SS, NSDAP, or another fascist organisation before January 30th, 1933. It was also issued to members of the Austrian SS, NSDAP, and other Austrian fascist groups, who had volunteered for the SS before January 12, 1933.
The chevron is composed out of two silver tresses that have been attached to form a "V". Unlike rank chevrons, it has no cloth backing.
