History
In the early days of the SS when the organisation was still under the control of the SA, SS flag or standard bearers wore an SA gorget. In 1938, an official SS-only flag bearer gorget was introduced.
The gorget has a matte silver colour finish and features a darkened silver-coloured national eagle emblem in the style of the SS, albeit with spaces in between half the length of the individual wing segments. At the top left and right is a button each with SS runes. The chain used is similar to the chain featured on the M36 dagger, with alternating plates of skulls and SS runes.
