History

Prior to 1933, many non-official and homemade varieties of flags for the German Youngsters (Deutsches Jungvolk = DJ) were in use, due to a lack of official regulations.
On September 1, 1934, flags for Jungbanne, Fähnlein, and Jungenschaften were officially introduced.

The Jungbann flag is black with a white eagle carrying a sword and a hammer, with a swastika on its chest. Above the eagle is a scroll with the number of the individual Jungbann.
