History
The Territorial Decoration was instituted by King Edward VII on September 29, 1908. The Decoration was awarded to personnel of the Territorial Force and Territorial Army in recognition of 20 years of commissioned service. Time served in the ranks counted as half while service during war counted as double. Members of the Honourable Artillery Company were awarded a Decoration with a distinct ribbon. The award was superseded by the Efficiency Decoration in 1930, with approximately 4 730 awards being issued before this date.
There are 2 versions of the Decoration; the first issued during the reign of King Edward VII and the second during the reign of King George V.
