History

The Royal Naval Volunteer (Wireless) Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal was established in 1939 and awarded to members of the Royal Naval Volunteer Wireless Auxiliary Reserve in recognition of 12 years of service. The Silver Medal was discontinued in 1957 when the Royal Naval Volunteer Wireless Auxiliary Reserve was disbanded. It is estimated that only approximately 200 Medals were issued.

The Medal is the same design as the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. There are 2 versions of the Medal that vary in obverse design. The first was instituted during the reign of King George VI while the second was instituted during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Medal features a Latin inscription on the reverse which translates to "Faithful over Time."
