History
The New Zealand Territorial Service Medal was instituted by King George V in 1912 as a replacement for the New Zealand Volunteer Service Medal. The Silver Medal was awarded to members of the New Zealand Territorial Forces in recogniton of 12 years of service. The Medal was made obsolete in 1931 following the introduction of the Efficiency Medal with the clasp for New Zealand.
