The Hong Kong Military Service Corps Medal was established in 1997. The Medal was awarded to military personnel of any rank who served with the Hong Kong Military Service Corps in commemoration of the disbandment of the Hong Kong Military Service Corps in 1996. Recipient's of the Silver Medal were required to privately purchase the award.

Privately altered versions with a named engraving of the recipient may be encountered.
