History

The Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait was instituted by King Fahd ibn Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia in 1991. The Medal was awarded to British and allied forces for service during the liberation of Kuwait, also known as Operation Desert Storm, between January 17 and February 28, 1991. Only some British recipients have been given permission to wear the Medal, however exact figures are unknown.

The Medal features an obverse inscription in both Arabic and English.

There may be additional versions of the Medal which vary according to a manufacturer.
