History
The Accumulated Campaign Service Medal 2011 was instituted by Queen Elizabeth II on July 1, 2011, as a replacement for the Accumulated Campaign Service Medal (1994). The Accumulated Campaign Service Medal 2011 is awarded to members of any branch of the Armed Services who received the Operational Service Medal, General Service Medal, Iraq Medal, or any other specifically designed multi-national campaign medal. On top of this, eligible personnel must have served for 24 months on or after January 1, 2008. Service recognized with the award of a gallantry medal, or service curtailed by death or injury inflicted whilst on active duty also qualifies for the award of the Silver Medal.
Each additional period of 24 months of accumulated operational service is recognized with the award of a clasp. A gold rosette is worn to denote the award of 4 clasps, 1 gold and 1 silver rosette are worn to denote the award of 5 clasps, 1 gold and 2 silver rosettes are worn to denote the award of 6 clasps, 2 gold rosettes are worn to denote the award of 7 clasps, and 3 gold rosettes are worn to denote the award of 9 clasps.
The design of the Accumulated Campaign Service Medal 2011 is the same as the Accumulated Campaign Service Medal (1994), however, the Accumulated Campaign Service Medal 2011 is worn with a distinct ribbon.
The Silver Medal may also be awarded posthumously.
