History


This medal was founded by King Christian X of Denmark, to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the Icelandic Parliament institution in 930 AD.

The medal was awarded to members of the Icelandic Althing in 1930, as well as to foreign head of state and parliaments that participated in the celebrations.

The obverse features an inscription in runic letters.
