History

This Customs and Finance Guards Service Medal was founded by the Hungarian Minister of Finance.

The Medal is conferred upon Hungarians working within the finance sector who have long and meritorious service over a specific number of years.

There are two main versions of these medals, the earlier medals awarded from 1992 until 1994 feature a simpler design and no enamel, while the later medals, awarded from 1994 onwards, have a more complicated design and more enamel.
