History

This Order was instituted to recognize Hungarian women who had given birth to, and raised, ten or more children.

The purpose of the Order was to foster the the creation of a new generation of Hungarian children after World War II, who adhered to the practices and ideology of the Hungarian People's Republic thus strengthening the state.

The Order was discontinued in 1957.

The II Class Medal was conferred upon women who gave birth to 10 children.
