History

This Medal was instituted to recognize Hungarian women who had given birth to and raised, six or more children.

The purpose of the medal was to foster to the propagation of a new generation of Hungarian children after World War II, who adhered to the practices and ideology of the Hungarian People's Republic thus strengthening the state.

The Medal was discontinued in 1957.

The II Class Medal was conferred upon women who gave birth to 8 children.
