History
The Honour Cross for Veteran and Military Associations was instituted by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst of Saxony on October 28, 1902, on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Saxon-Weimar Regiment. The decoration was awarded to meritorious veteran or military associations and was to be attached to the association’s banner. It was awarded with an accompanying document.
The awarded association had to have existed for at least 25 years and had to have been part of the Veteran and Military Association League for at least 10 years. If it left the League or if it was dissolved, the award had to be returned.
