History
In 1905, Prince Regent Luitpold established the Bavarian Army Jubilee Medal to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his joining the army. The medal was awarded to all active Officers and soldiers, Officers of the reserve army, and holders of the Gold and Silver Military Merit Medals.
In 1909, the crown was added as an additional honour to the Jubilee Medal to celebrate the anniversary of Luitpold becoming the Colonel-in-Chief. It was awarded to actively serving Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers of the I. Bavarian Field Artillery, including veterans from that unit who served during the 1870/1871 wars.
The III Class Bronze Medal was worn on the chest.
