History


The Prisoner of War Medal was awarded to members of the Belgian Armed Forces who survived imprisonment by enemy forces during the Second World War. It could also be awarded posthumously to those who died as a result of their imprisonment.

Small bronze bar clasps were awarded for every year spent in captivity.
