History


The Maritime Decoration was awarded to Belgian civilians, including members of the Merchant Navy and fishermen, in recognition of distinguished service at sea during the First World War.

The decorations closely resemble the Civic Decoration and differ only in the attachment of crossed anchors on the ribbon.
