This Medal is associated with Medal for Meritorious Public Welfare, which was founded in the Kingdom of Italy. The modern Medal features the emblem of the Italian Republic on the obverse medallion. The Medal is awarded to individuals who have rendered extraordinary aid in the form of personal medical care, administrative assistance, material aide, or moral support during an epidemic, natural disaster, or to diseased and sick individuals.
