History
This medal was conferred upon the pilots that attempted the first non-stop flight from Istanbul to Cairo in 1913.
Several times the flight was unsuccessful, but those who survived and the heirs of those who did not, were still awarded medals.
The title of this medal is translated as the Medal of Airplanes.
The recipient's name may be engraved on the reverse, as well as the date of the flight attempt.
