History

This Order is the highest Slovakian Order and it was awarded to high-ranking officers or officials.

There are two versions of this Order, a Civil division and a Military division, but the only difference between these two versions is the addition of swords to the Military division. The addition of a Military division was authorized on November 4, 1942.

Pribina was a Slavic prince during the 9th century. He was the first Slavic ruler to build Christian churches and he ruled over Lower Pannonia.
