History
The Title of the Heroine Mother was established in 1951. It was conferred upon all Romanian mothers of 10 or more children and was accompanied by a monthly allowance. It was permanently suppressed after the fall of the Socialist Republic in 1989.
There are four known versions of the Star that differ in obverse initials and composition. All versions have an obverse inscription that translates to “Heroine Mother.”
