History
The Long Service Medal was established in 1938, but it was discontinued a short time later due to the outbreak of the Second World War. It was reinstated by the Republic of Poland in 2007.
It is conferred upon Polish military personnel and civilians in the employ of the state in recognition of long and faithful service.
Although the I Class Medal was part of the original award statutes, it was not awarded until the Medal was revived in 2007. It features an obverse inscription that translates to "For Long Service."
The Long Service Medal is also listed in the Medals & Decorations of the Second Polish Republic (1918-1939) and the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile (1939-1989).
