History
The Decoration for Merit to Statistical Surveys was established by the Council of Ministers in 2003 as a replacement for the Decoration for Merit in Statistical Surveying that was awarded in the Polish People’s Republic. It is currently awarded by the President of the Central Statistical Office to Polish citizens, organisations, and foreigners in recognition of meritorious service in statistics.
The Silver Decoration features initials on the obverse that stand for "Rzeczpospolita Polska" (Republic of Poland) with an additional inscription that can be translated to "For Merit to Statistics."
See also the Decoration for Merit in Statistical Surveying (POL566) in the Medals & Decorations of the Polish People’s Republic (1944-1989).
