History
The Air Crew Star was first established by the Republic of Poland in 2007 and was later finalised in 2012. It is awarded to members of the Polish Air Force who have served in the NATO supervision of Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian airspace since 2005. It may also be awarded in recognition of participation in other military operations.
Recipients may be awarded an "ORLIK 1," "ORLIK 2," "ORLIK 3," or "ORLIK 4" clasp to denote their contingent.
The Bronze Star features initials on the obverse that stand for "Rzeczpospolita Polska" (Republic of Poland) with an inscription that translates to "Air Crews." The reverse inscription translates to "I Serve Peace."
