History
The Monte Cassino Cross was established by the Government of the Republic of Poland in exile in 1944. It was awarded to all members of the Polish 2nd Corps who participated in the capture of Monte Cassino. It was later recognised as an official decoration on October 16, 1992.
Over 48000 Bronze Crosses were awarded.
