History

The honorary title of Meritorious Printer of the Polish People's Republic was established by the Council of State in 1985. It was permanently discontinued in 1992 following the collapse of the communist regime.

It was conferred upon workers in the Polish printing industry for meritorious service. Recognised merits included long and faithful service, contributions to the promotion of education and culture through the dissemination of knowledge, the implementation of technological advancements, and outstanding contributions to the workplace. Recipients were entitled to a monetary award in the form of a pension increase.

The Badge features initials on the obverse that stand for "Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa" (Polish People's Republic) and an additional inscription that translates to "Meritorious Printer."
