History
The Medal For Long Married Life was established by the Polish People's Republic in 1960. It was retained by the Republic of Poland in 1992 and is currently awarded to Polish couples in recognition of 50 years of marriage (to the same person).
There are two versions of the Silver Medal that differ in reverse inscription according to the time period in which they were awarded. The first features initials that stand for "Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa" (Polish People's Republic) and the second features initials that stand for "Rzeczpospolita Polska" (Republic of Poland). Both versions feature an additional inscription that translates to "For Long Married Life."
The current version is listed in the Medals & Decorations of the Third Polish Republic (1989-).
