History
The Decoration for Meritorious Farming Purchasers was established by the Council of Ministers in 1972. It was awarded by the Minister of the Food Industry and Purchasing to employees of the food industry, including food processors and employees of food co-operatives, in recognition of meritorious service. It was later discontinued following the collapse of the communist regime in 1989.
The service requirements for the I Class Decoration could be waived, but only under exceptional circumstances.
The I Class Decoration features an obverse inscription that translates to "Meritorious Worker of the Food Industry and Purchasing," and a reverse inscription that translates to "Ministry of Food Industry and Purchasing."
