History
The Decoration for Exemplary Service in Healthcare was established by the Council of Ministers in 1950 and was later revised in 1986. It was awarded to healthcare professionals including doctors, nurses, and paramedics in recognition of meritorious service. It was administered by the Ministry of Health before it was officially discontinued in 2000.
There are two different versions of the Decoration that differ in design. Both versions feature an obverse inscription that can be translated to "For Exemplary Work in Healthcare."
