History
The Medal for 18 Years of Military Service was established by King Stanislaus August Poniatowski in 1768. It was awarded to Non-Commissioned Officers and enlisted men in recognition of 18 years of meritorious military service.
The Silver Medal features an obverse inscription that translates to "King Stanislaus August," and a reverse inscription that translates to "For Service of 18 Years in the Same Corps." There are two additional versions that differ in reverse inscription. One has an alternative spelling of "Corps" and the other replaces it with "Regiment."
