History
The Order of the Three Flames was established by the Association of Young Lithuanians, known as “Young Lithuania,” in 1935. It was suppressed along with all other Lithuanian awards in 1940, and it is not believed to have been re-instated following the collapse of the Soviet regime and the declaration of the Republic of Lithuania.
It was awarded to members of the Association for meritorious service, as well as to other Lithuanians and foreigners for contributions to the youth movement and youth organisations in Lithuania.
The III Class Cross was worn on a breast ribbon without a rosette.
