History
The Pilot Badge is classified into four types based on changes in design during different political regimes.
The Type II Badge was instituted on June 1, 1973, and does not have a royal crown above the flying eagle.
There are three versions of the Type II Badge that differ in composition. The first version was worn on the dress uniform, and the others were worn on the service uniform. All versions are embroidered onto blue-grey wool.
