History
The White Cross of the Estonian Defence League was officially recognised by the Estonian government on June 19, 1929. It was discontinued during the Soviet occupation, but it was later renewed following the restoration of Estonian independence.
It is awarded to members of the Estonian Defence League for long and meritorious service. It may also be awarded to foreigners for service to the Estonian Defence League.
The reverse inscription represents the establishment date of the Estonian Defence League.
