History

The Rescue Service Cross is awarded to Estonian citizens in recognition of bravery and merit in rescue operations, or in the organisation of rescue operations and training programs. It may also be awarded posthumously.

The Gold Cross is awarded for exceptional merit in rescue operations, long and faithful service in the rescue services, and for the management of rescue operations.
