History

The Rescue Service Cross is awarded to Estonian citizens in recognition of bravery and merit in rescue operations, or in the organisation of rescue operations and training programs. It may also be awarded posthumously.

The Gold Medal is awarded for exceptional merit in the rescue services and bravery in rescue operations.
