History
This medal was founded by the Provisional Government and it was conferred upon Military personnel in recognition of meritorious acts of valour and bravery rendered during World War I and the interwar period.
It was awarded to personnel within the Czechoslovak Armed Forces, as well as foreign allied Armed Forces personnel from Austria and Poland.
There are three main versions of the medal.
The medals issued from 1918-1920 feature a light coloured bronze.
The medals issued from 1920-1938 feature a dark coloured bronze.
The medals issued from 1938-1946 feature a dark coloured bronze.
The ribbon may be decorated with several types of insignia including, bronze linden twig, bronze linden leaf, gold star, silver star, and bronze star.
