History

This Order was awarded in recognition of heroic and meritorious military and civil achievements that benefited Czechoslovakia.

Recipients were chosen by the government, and they bestowed with the title "Hero of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic."

Alongside the Title, the recipient was also awarded the Order of Klement Gottwald-For the Building of the Socialist Homeland.

The original title of the award was "Hero of the Czechoslovak Republic", and it was changed to the "Hero of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" in 1960.

The suspension of the star is numbered.
