    This medal was instituted by a Princely Rescript to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Princess Clementina, the mother of Prince Ferdinand I.

    The medal was primarily awarded personnel within the 9th Plovdiv Infantry Regiment, of which she was the patron.

    The obverse inscription translates to "In Honour of Fidelity."

    The reverse inscription translates to "22 May 1899" and "4 January 1888."

    The ...   Gold Medal was conferred upon Staff Officers, and members of the royal family.
