History


This medal was instituted by the State Council and it was conferred upon civilian and military personnel of the Bulgarian People’s Army in recognition of long, meritorious service.

It was also awarded to foreigners for service to the Armed Forces.

The medal could only be awarded once to each recipient.

This medal was designed by Raycho Peev, and it was discontinued in 1991.
