History
This medal was conferred upon members of the Construction Troops in recognition of long and faithful service.
It was also awarded to personnel within the construction units associated with the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Transportation.
The medal was designed by Raycho Peev and Stoyan Lazarov.
There are two main versions of the medal.
The medals issued first feature the Bulgarian coat of arms from 1947-1948 on the reverse with the inscription “9 IX 1944.”
The medals issued second feature the Bulgarian coat of arms from 1971 on the reverse with the inscription “891 1944.”
It was discontinued in 1991.
The II Class was awarded for 15 years of service.
