History

This medal was conferred in commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Border Service.

It was awarded to Border Service personnel for outstanding performance, to veterans involved in education emphasizing military patriotism, soldiers, Belarusian and foreign state officials, and others for notable contributions to border security.

It was also awarded to 4th and 5th year military students enrolled in military institutions in 2008, and to Border Service civilian personnel for at least 10 years of service.

The reverse features a Cyrillic inscription.
