History

This medal is conferred in recognition of gallantry in defence of the nation, security of the public, and courage during life-threatening situations. It is awarded to Armenian Armed Forces personnel, employees of Customs, Department of Emergency Situations, Internal Affairs, and National Security, and other individuals.

The obverse Armenian inscription translates to "Courage".
