    This medal was instituted by King Birenda. This medal is no longer awarded due to the abolition of the Nepalese monarchy in June 2008. This medal is also known as Shahi Rakshak Padak.

    Awarded in recognition of service as a Royal Palace Guard.

    The obverse features an inscription in Nepalese, a central star and a sword. The reverse features an inscription in Nepalese and is dated "2033" (V.S. 2033 = A.D. 1977). ...
