History

The Order of the Most Esteemed Royal Family Order of Selangor, also known as "Darjah Kerabat Selangor Yang Amat Di-Hormati" was created on June 6, 1961 by Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ibni Almarhum Hishamuddin Shah. This order is usually reserved for Malayan Royalty and a small number of high Officers of the State. It is also conferred upon foreign Royalty.

The insignia consists of a collar, badge and breast star ...  .

The collar is in silver gilt, 40 inches in length and is meant to be worn equal distance from back to front. There are 14 links, the 2 central links contain the pierced cypher of the Selangor Crest superimposed on a crescent. The 12 other links are oval shaped with transparent yellow enamel backgrounds, presenting palm leaves surrounding alternate crossed daggers and crescents.
