History

This medal is unknown. A credible source states that it may have been conferred when the Royal Army and the Pathet Lao Forces almost integrated. Or, it may have been awarded during the final years of the Provisional Government of National Unity.

Version I features a Royal Army trident and Chaka symbol. Version I features the red star of Pathet Lao servicemen.
