History

The Order was founded to mark the 20th anniversary of the People's Army of North Korea.

This Order is conferred upon active and retired Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers, in recognition of their service to North Korea and one individual may be awarded the badge up to three times.

The earlier versions of the badge are screw-back, while the later versions are pin-back.

The obverse inscription is a translation of the original Korean inscription.
