History

The Girraj Order was founded by Maharaja Kishan Singhji in 1925 as a military decoration. The Order was conferred in 2 Classes to Military Officers in recognition of distinguished and meritorious service. It is thought by some scholars that the Girrah Order is similar in function to the Order of British India.

Recipients of the I Class are also entitled to use the formal title "Kul Bhusan" or "Samar Bir", and are also granted a monetary allowance.

The I Class is composed of gold.

The obverse features a Hindi motto which translates to "People's Power is Raja's Power and is Worthy of Admiration."

The design of the Order is uncertain as no examples have been found. There is limited information regarding this item.
