History

The Military General Service Medal (Tamgha-e-Khidmat Ammah Harbia) was instituted by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan V Abbas in 1924. The Silver Medal was awarded in recognition of general military service and other demonstrations of good conduct.

The obverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "By the Grace of God Sadiq Mohammed Abbasi V Ruler of God Gifted Kingdom of Bahawalpur" and the reverse features an Arabic inscription which translates to "General Service of War."

There is thought to be 2 versions of the Medal which vary by design. The first version depicts an obverse design of the Amir wearing a fez, while the second version features a design of the Amir bareheaded and in military uniform.
