History

This medal was conferred upon members of the Home Guards, Civil Defence, and Mobile Civil Defence Emergency Forces in recognition of devotion to duty.

Clasps were awarded to signify additional acts of meritorious service.

The obverse features inscriptions in English and Hindi. The Hindi inscription translates to "President's Home Guards and Civil Defense Medal". The reverse features inscriptions in English a ...  nd Hindi. The Hindi inscription translates to "Distinguished Service".
